Jersey Festival of Words

25 – 29 September

A five day literary festival takes place in late September in Jersey which aims to promote a love of the spoken and written word. Local and international writers and poets showcase their work, bringing it to life in a variety of workshops, readings and presentations. There are also competitions and children’s events.

Authors attending the Festival

The festival covers a wide range of authors and subjects as well as offering opportunities to learn about story writing, watch cooking demonstrations and take part in workshops. Past authors have included Michael Morpurgo, Victoria Hislop, Kat Banyard, Simon Scarrow, Louise Doughty, Carol Ann Duffy, Simon Barnes, Will Smith, Richard Dawkins, Alexander McCall Smith, John Boyne, Clare Balding and Jenni Murray. This year is set to include Raynor Winn, Emily Leary, Janet Hoggarth, Graham Farmleo, Konnie Huq, Daniel Geey, Robin Knox-Johnston, Alex Rogers, Louise Minchin and Jenny Eclair.
