Channel Islands Heritage Festival 2015 Heritage Festival banner

Jersey’s history came to life in a special five week focus in Spring in the form of The Channel Islands Heritage Festival 2015. The pan island event was timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary Liberation Day festivities throughout the islands, marking the remembrance of those who lost their lives during World War II and celebrating freedom from Occupation.

The joint venture between Jersey Tourism and Visit Guernsey meant Spring was an exciting time to visit the islands with events taking place on Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Sark as well. Not only did the flags fly high on Liberation Day but wartime bunkers, coastal defences and museums had special events taking place over the five weeks.
