La Fête dé Noué Christmas Festival and Parade

A festive Christmas parade is held which marks the finale of the Fête dé Noué celebrations. It features floats as well as live music and street theatre. It’s beginning to feel like Christmas is near, especially on Jersey as we prepare for La Fête dé Noué which starts on 30 November. The name comes from the local Jersey Norman-French  language and means ‘The Christmas Festival”.

This mid-winter treat is one not to miss and this year is chock full of festive treats for visitors and locals alike! There’s a Christmas parade, craft making, winter walks and much more festive entertainment to get you into the Christmas spirit. Plus there’s story telling from the big man himself, Father Christmas!

During this time St. Helier is the perfect place to be and for those who want to shop ’til they drop it’s ideal as on Thursdays many shops are open to 9 o’ clock for late night shopping. From the big brand high street stores to small quaint independent boutiques you’re sure to find something for that special someone.

During La Fête dé Noué there’s festive markets in St. Helier town which will definitely turn that old scoundrel Mr Scrooge into Jolly ol’ St Nick!  Get enticed with the unforgettable aroma of mulled wine and roasting chestnuts that linger in the air as you wander around the many craft stalls ready to ‘Deck Your Halls’ with a homemade wreath or other unique Christmas decorations.

But the highlight of the season has to be the ‘Spectacular Christmas Parade’ on the 8 December from 5 o’ clock which sees many beautifully decorated floats lit up and wind their way through St Helier with music and dance that spreads the spirit of Christmas.

So why not come on over to Jersey in the next few weeks and and see what our little island has to offer in the lead up to this wonderful festive time?
