Superman Returns … to Jersey

Earlier in the year you may of heard us mention, that the Man Of Steel himself –  Henry Cavill – was originally from Jersey.  Well, we have just heard that on 14th of June  and just 2 days after the UK Premiere, there will be an exclusive Jersey Premiere!  Clark Kent and some of the film’s other cast members will be at the Cineworld  in Jersey on the Waterfront Leisure Complex in St Helier.

The Director of Man of Steel is Zack Snyder who also directed such huge titles as 300 and Watchmen and producing it is none other than Christopher Nolan who is the genius behind the Dark Knight Trilogy.

Originally from Jersey,  Cavill went to St Michael’s Preparatory School in St Savior before venturing out to the mainland to study at Stowe Boarding school in Buckinghamshire.

Carvill is better known for playing ‘Charles Brandon’ in the BBC’s Tudors.  Apparently he just missed out for the role as Bond … James Bond in the latest adaptations, but has said he would still love the chance to take over when Daniel Craig decides to step away from 007.

Man of Steel is another origin story of how Superman came to be. Superman’s home planet Krypton is dying and as a last effort Superman’s Father Jor-El  (played by Russell Crowe) sends him to Earth to save him where he is then found by Jonathon and Martha Kent who decide to adopt him as their own.

As a young boy Clark  Kent learns that he’s not of this world and he discovers he has extraordinary powers. As he grows up and becomes a young man he journeys out to try and learn where he came from and who or what sent him to Earth. Discovering his Kryptonian past Kent dons the red cape and sets out to save the world from total destruction.  It turns out that he is not the only survivor from Krypton as the Evil General Zod (played by Oscar nominee Michael Shannon) is determined to destroy the earth.

Man Of Steel is out on General Release as from the 14th of June and is set to be this summer’s block buster.  A must see film. I know I wont miss it!
